Men, often,get better share of benefits through employment. But the women have to bear the brunt of the cost of family and social disasters.

Mining, oil drilling and extraction of natural gas have impact on environment, social and economic fronts. The impact women is different. Local women often play a key role in protecting and promoting community land and resources.

Women and Extractive working group in CENRs need to look into the gender aspects in the extractive world. That’s why, women role is required in policy advocacy for mainstreaming gender in the extractive industries, capacity building for women relating to extractives, capacity building and training of women on natural resources. These have been initiated to plug the loopholes.
